my parting star

you left slowly

as the sun disappears below the horizon
you pulled yourself away from me
piece by piece

as the rays leave the surface of the earth
i see the reflection
on the clouds of my parting star

as the wind blows past a sudden coldness
strikes and i do not feel you anymore

you are gone.
